REVIEW - Dry Pack Waterproof Case
Currently I'm on vacation with my kids in Williamsburg Virginia. And as any good parent knows, you have to hit the water park when you're here, or your kids will disown you. So, knowing I would be subjected to lazy river rides, tube shoots and wave pools, I was concerned about what I was going to do with my iphone.
After checking to see if it would fit in my Dorney Park plastic credit card case (which I purchased a couple of years ago during my last trip to a water park), I saw that it would ALMOST fit, but not quite. So, I decided to go in search of a waterproof iPhone case instead.
Not finding anything suitable at the Apple store I turned my attentions to google. Any case I found was priced at more than $50, and even though it would be protecting the most important gadget of my life outside of my laptop, I wasn't thrilled about spending that kind of money for something I would probably use only once.
I tried another route instead. I hit the sporting goods store.
WHAT? A SPORTING GOODS STORE you say? Why, when there are thousands of tech and gadget stores online and everyone and their mother sells iPhone specific accessories, would I consider trying something, well, so NON-techie.
People go boating. People go kayaking. People have cell phones, they have small cameras. They need to have a way to keep them protected, too, I figured. I was right.
I found this: the Dry Pack Clear Camera Case at Dicks Sporting Goods (http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2615180).

It was $19.99 and it fit my iphone, credit cards, cash, park tickets, car keys, my son's glasses, and more. Perfect in theory, I wondered if it would work as good as it claimed. Only one way to find out.
I filled the dry pack with all the aforementioned items and off we went. I was skeptical but after submersing it in the pool I was thrilled to see that it worked exactly as stated. All my contents stayed completely dry as I subjected it to hour after hour of waves, pools, sprays, and other non-iphone safe activities. One thing that was a little annoying was that the inside of the vinyl bag stuck to the phone and glasses, making it a little difficult to get the items out when I needed. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could use the buttons on the phone while it remained safely inside the bag! I was able to check my time, read and write emails, and even take a picture through the bag without having to remove it. Yay!
Overall, worth every penny and more, and in my opinion every water park on earth should sell these. I will never leave home without it again - never know when I may get caught in a big rain storm, or a quick pool party. ;)
A+++ - if you need one, get this - PERFECT.
